A 22-year-old Indian student, Gurasis Singh, was allegedly stabbed to death during a physical altercation with his roommate in Sarnia, Canada. Singh, originally from Punjab, was studying business at Lambton College.
The incident occurred in the early hours of December 1, 2024, at their rented apartment on Queen Street, when a heated argument erupted between Singh and his roommate, 36-year-old Crossley Hunter, in the kitchen. Singh was found dead at the scene with multiple stab wounds after police responded to a 911 call.
Hunter has been charged with second-degree murder and was remanded in custody by the authorities. The Sarnia Police have confirmed the tragic incident.
He appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice in London via video and was remanded into custody. The next court appearance, also by video, is scheduled for Friday, December 6.
According to Sarnia police, the incident took place at a shared-rooming house on Queen Street in the early hours of December 1. Furthermore, the police informed that they had a verbal altercation that escalated into a physical battle, and Hunter stabbed the Indian student numerous times, resulting in his death. Police later came to an emergency 911 call and discovered the victim’s body lying down with severe bleeding. They took Hunter into custody and brought him before the Ontario Court of Justice in London, where he was remanded in custody.
