The trustees of Mumbai’s renowned Lilavati Hospital have raised shocking claims involving black magic and a massive financial scandal. The current members of the Lilavati Kirtilal Mehta Medical Trust have accused former trustees of embezzling a staggering ₹1,200 crore, leading to serious financial irregularities that have reportedly affected the hospital’s operations.
In addition to the financial allegations, the trustees have also raised claims of black magic practices on the hospital’s premises. It was reported that eight urns containing bones, human hair, and other items used in black magic rituals were discovered under the office of the current trustees.
Following these revelations, the trust has filed complaints with both the police and Enforcement Directorate, resulting in three FIRs being registered against the former trustees. The financial misconduct was said to have had a significant impact on the hospital, located in Bandra, Mumbai.
The current trustees took control after a prolonged legal battle, with Chetan Dalal Investigation and Management Services and ADB and Associates conducting a forensic audit. The audit reportedly uncovered large-scale irregularities, manipulation, and siphoning of funds by the former trustees. Sources revealed that forensic reports indicated more than ₹1,500 crore had been misappropriated by a group of former trustees, many of whom are NRIs living in Dubai and Belgium.
The allegations also include illegal dealings with third-party distributors during procurement processes, as well as the misuse of trust funds for personal expenses.
Parambir Singh, the hospital’s executive director and former Police Commissioner of Mumbai, described a startling discovery made when the current trustees took charge. Employees reportedly informed them about items linked to black magic practices hidden under the floor of the office. Under witness supervision and videography, they dug up the floor and found eight urns containing human remains, bones, hair, rice, and other items associated with black magic rituals. Despite initially facing resistance from the police, who reportedly refused to register a case, the trustees approached the court, which then ordered an inquiry into the matter.
