In a significant cabinet reshuffle, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has stepped down from several key portfolios. The changes, which impact various departments, are as follows:
- Himanta Biswa Sarma will continue overseeing the Home Department, Medical Education,PWD and National Highway Dept.
- Pijush Hazarika has been assigned the Information and Public Relations Department, as well as the Water Resources Department.
- Jayanta Malla barua will now head the Housing and Urban Affairs Department and Public Health and Engineering dept (PHE)
- Ronoj Pegu will manage the Education Department, Higher Education, Tribal Affairs (Plain) Dept.
- Keshab Mahanta will oversee the Revenue and Disaster Managaement, Information and Technology Dept, Science Technogy and Climate change dept.
- Bimal Bora will take charge of the Cultural Affairs Department and Industrires, Commerce and Public Enterprisers Dept.
- Chandra Mohan Patowary has been appointed to handle Parliamentary Affairs and the Environment and Forest Departments.
- Atul Bora will be in charge of Agriculture, Excise, Industry, Agriculture, Border Protection, Horticulture Departments.
- Prashanta Phukan will oversee the Power Dept, Skill Employment, and Medical Education and Redearch Departments.
- Rupesh Gowla will manage the Labor Welfare Department, Tea Tribe Welfare Dept, as well as Home (Jails, Home Guard).
- Krishnendu Pal will be responsible for the Animal Husbandry, Fisheries, and Public Works Roads Department.
- Kaushik Rai will head the Food, Mines and Minerals, Barak Valley Departments.

- Ranjeet Kumar Das will head the Panchayat and Rural Devlopment dept, judicial dept, Tourism dept, and General Adminitration Dept (GAD)
