Ahead of Republic Day, the Border Security Force (BSF) has intensified its security efforts along the Pakistan border in Jaisalmer with the launch of ‘Operation Sard Hawa’. This special operation, which began on January 22, is aimed at preventing infiltration attempts during the winter season when dense fog reduces visibility along the border.
As part of its routine security measures, the BSF conducts two major operations each year: ‘Operation Garam Hawa’ in the summer and ‘Operation Sard Hawa’ in the winter. These operations are designed to strengthen surveillance and thwart any potential border security threats.
BSF Commandant Harbans Singh stated that the operation will involve heightened vigilance, particularly in the Jaisalmer district. From January 22 to 29, all BSF officers and personnel will be stationed near the border fence, equipped with state-of-the-art weapons and advanced technology to enhance visibility through the dense fog. The operation will also see increased patrolling using both vehicles and camels. While vehicles will cover accessible areas, camel patrols will be deployed in more difficult-to-reach regions.
The BSF’s intelligence wing will play a crucial role throughout the operation, actively monitoring and analyzing suspicious activities. The force will also coordinate with other intelligence agencies to ensure that any unusual developments are immediately addressed.
With the operation in full swing, the BSF is leaving no stone unturned in its efforts to secure the border and prevent infiltration, ensuring that the nation’s security remains intact ahead of the Republic Day celebrations.
