Cyber criminals have been actively targeting businesses in Guwahati, with multiple companies falling prey to organized criminal gangs. These gangs are extorting large sums of money from business owners using various tactics.
An employee identified as Prabhash Kabra is the most recent victim of this escalating cybercrime tsunami, who had his bank accounts hacked, resulting in the theft of lakhs of rupees.
In response, Kabra filed a case with the Guwahati Cyber Cell, which is now investigating the incident.
Preliminary investigations have revealed that the stolen funds were transferred to two special accounts in Jharkhand. The cyber cell is continuing its efforts to track down the perpetrators and uncover more details about the criminal operation.
