In a major breakthrough, Delhi Police has successfully busted an illegal immigration racket, arresting 11 individuals involved in forging documents and facilitating the entry of Bangladeshi nationals into India. The group, which includes document forgers, Aadhaar operators, and tech experts, allegedly created fake websites to generate counterfeit identification documents, including Aadhaar cards, voter IDs, and other forged papers.
According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (South), Ankit Chauhan, the suspects used these fake documents to enable the illegal entry of individuals into India. As part of their investigation, the police identified over 1,000 people during their drive. Two men were apprehended in the Kalindi Kunj and Hazrat Nizamuddin areas.
Additionally, two more accused—Abdul Ahad (22) and Mohammad Azizul (32)—were arrested by the Hazrat Nizamuddin Police Station team on December 10 and 12, respectively.
These arrests are part of a wider crackdown on illegal immigration in the city. In response to the growing issue, Delhi’s Lieutenant Governor has directed the Chief Secretary and Police Commissioner to launch a special two-month operation targeting Bangladeshi nationals residing in the city without proper documentation.
