A junior commissioned officer in the Indian army this dynamic young man’s performance on the field has landed him on a projectile with his gravity-defying popularity turning him into a social and digital media star.
As per reports by a research consultancy firm YouGov SPORT, his win had him record over 2.9 million mentions from over 1.4 million authors, making him the ‘most mentioned’ athlete globally on Instagram.
Chopra’s social media interaction jumping to 12.79 million with an increase of 86.3 percent, his Instagram followers have seen a rise of nearly 2300 percent going as high as 4.5 million almost thrice the average for an elite Indian athlete. With an overwhelming 412 million reach on social and digital media, his social media valuation has risen to a whopping total of 428 crores.
Chopra with his growing popularity has also managed to surpass the established international cricketers like KL Rahul and Rishab Pant in terms of total interaction and overall reach on social media.
Chopra’s phenomenal victory has opened up opportunities for him with him reportedly increasing his fees from INR 20-30 lakhs to INR 2 crore in terms of brand endorsements.
