A death toll of 201 was reported across Nepal and India due to major rainfall and flooding. The heavy rainfall in Nepal leaving low-pressure over Northern India, while bringing in moisture from Bay of Bengal has resulted in deaths in these two countries.
Nainital of India has been affected mostly by these rainfall and floods accounting for half of the deaths. Most of the rescue operations are continuing in Uttarkhand for rescuing trekkers majorly from those areas. The landslides have been increasing due to heavy rain falls, leading to deaths and people trapped in places and injured.
IIlam district of Nepal has recorded 36 deaths due to rainfalls and Meteorological department of Nepal has mentioned that rain and possible snow could make situation worst.
