OYO, the prominent travel and hotel booking platform, has introduced a new check-in policy for its partner hotels in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, set to take effect this year. According to the updated guidelines, unmarried couples will no longer be allowed to check in at OYO hotels. This change applies to all couples, including those with online reservations.
Under the new policy, couples will be required to provide valid proof of their relationship when checking in, ensuring that only those with legitimate ties can access rooms. The platform has already instructed its partner hotels in Meerut to implement this policy immediately.
Initially, the new rule will be rolled out in Meerut based on feedback from the ground. Depending on how the policy is received, OYO may decide to extend the guidelines to other cities in the future.
