Prime Minister Narendra Modi was awarded the prestigious ‘Order of Excellence’, the highest national honor of Guyana, during his visit to the country on the final leg of his three-nation tour. The award was presented to him by Guyanese President Mohamed Irfaan Ali, recognizing his exceptional service to the global community, his statesmanship, and his efforts in strengthening the India-Guyana relationship.
The Order of Excellence honors PM Modi’s significant contributions to global diplomacy and his leadership in deepening ties between India and Guyana.
Earlier, during his tour, the Commonwealth of Dominica conferred its highest national honor, the ‘Dominica Award of Honour’, on PM Modi. President Sylvanie Burton presented the award in recognition of Modi’s leadership during the COVID-19 pandemic and his unwavering dedication to enhancing the relationship between India and Dominica.
Expressing his deep gratitude, PM Modi dedicated the honor to the strong historical ties between India and Guyana, stating, “I dedicate the honor bestowed upon me to these very historical relations between India and Guyana and our unbreakable friendship.”
This recognition underscores PM Modi’s diplomatic efforts and the growing bond between India and the nations of the Caribbean.
