In a heartbreaking incident, Harsh Bardhan, a 2023-batch IPS officer from Madhya Pradesh, lost his life in a road accident on Sunday while traveling to his first posting in Hassan district, Karnataka.
The accident occurred around 4:20 pm on Sunday evening near Kittane, located approximately 10 km from Hassan. According to the Hassan district police, the police vehicle Bardhan was traveling in suffered a tyre burst, causing the driver to lose control. The vehicle then crashed into a house and a tree by the roadside.
Harsh Bardhan, who was heading to Holenarasipur in Hassan district to assume his duties as a probationary Assistant Superintendent of Police, sustained severe head injuries. Despite receiving immediate medical attention, he tragically succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. The driver of the vehicle, Manjegowda, sustained minor injuries in the crash.
This tragic incident has left the state in shock as Harsh Bardhan had just completed his training and was about to begin his career in law enforcement.
