In a harrowing incident in Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag district, an Indian Army soldier was found dead with bullet injuries after being kidnapped by terrorists. This event unfolded during an anti-terror operation launched on October 8 by the Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police.
Two soldiers from the 161 unit of the Territorial Army were abducted from a forest area in Anantnag. Fortunately, one of the soldiers managed to escape despite suffering two bullet wounds. He was swiftly transported to a medical facility, where he is reported to be in stable condition.
On October 9, search operations led to the grim discovery of the second soldier’s body in the Pathribal forest area. The soldier had sustained fatal bullet injuries.
This tragic occurrence coincided with the counting of votes in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly polls, adding a somber note to an already significant day.
