The ED has carried out a search operation in five states regarding illegal ticket sales for Coldplay and Diljit Dosanjh’s concerts.
ED has launched the search operation across five states which are Delhi, Mumbai, Jaipur, Chandigarh, and Bangalore. The operation was initiated after many FIRs were registered in different states related to the counterfeit concert ticket sales. After the release of tour dates of these concerts, they had created extreme buzz among the music enthusiasts with tickets selling out within minutes on official websites like bookmyshow and Zomato live. This immense demand led to the selling of tickets in black market in amounts triple the original price. ED has initiated an investigation under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002, and conducted searches at over 13 locations across the five states, garnering mobile phones, laptops, sim cards used in the scam.
The American band will be performing Music of the Spheres World Tour in Mumbai for 3 days on 18th, 19th and 21st of Nov. After performing across US and Europe Diljit is now set to perform his tour “Dil-Luminati” in India with Delhi being his first concert destination where he will be performing on Oct 26 and Oct 27. Subsequent to his Delhi concert he will move to Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Pune, Kolkata, Bangalore, Indore, Chandigarh, and Guwahati respectively.
Bookmyshow had also filed an FIR against suspects selling fake concert tickets in unreasonable prices.
