Tollywood superstar Allu Arjun appeared at the Chikkadpally Police Station in Hyderabad on Tuesday for an intense interrogation that lasted over 3-4 hours. The questioning is part of the ongoing investigation into the tragic stampede that occurred on December 4 during a special screening of his much-awaited film Pushpa 2: The Rule at Sandhya Theatre.
The focus of the investigation was on Arjun’s awareness of the safety arrangements at the theatre and his role in the unfortunate event. Police reportedly asked the actor if he was aware of the situation at the venue and if he had a copy of the event’s permission. Authorities are trying to determine whether Arjun was aware of the safety protocols in place and whether his unplanned appearance contributed to the chaos that ensued.
The stampede occurred when Arjun visited the theatre to interact with fans during the screening, causing a large crowd to rush in an attempt to catch a glimpse of the actor. Tragically, a woman named Revathi lost her life, and her eight-year-old son was hospitalized due to injuries sustained in the chaos.
Following the incident, the police filed a case against Allu Arjun, his security team, and the theatre management under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Arjun was arrested in connection with the case on December 13 but was granted a four-week interim bail by the Telangana High Court later that day. He was released from prison on December 14.
The actor had earlier expressed his willingness to cooperate with the investigation and appeared at the police station on Tuesday as requested. This questioning is a crucial part of the ongoing probe into the tragic stampede at the Sandhya Theatre.
